Volleyball Game Preview: Lumberton Raiders vs. Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears

Lumberton has won 24 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Little Cypress-Mauriceville has won 24 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Raiders will host the Bears at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lumberton is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since August 29th on Friday. They skirted past Bridge City 3-2.

Lumberton was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-27, 23-25, 25-16, 16-14.

Meanwhile, Little Cypress-Mauriceville got the win against Vidor on Friday by a conclusive 3-0.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 25-10.

Lumberton's win bumped their record up to 29-5. As for Little Cypress-Mauriceville, their victory bumped their record up to 30-7.

Lumberton beat Little Cypress-Mauriceville 3-1 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
