Basketball Recap: Pawhuska Falls Short of Wyandotte in the Playoffs

Pawhuska and Wyandotte squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Pawhuska had to settle for second. They fell 54-43 to the Wyandotte Bears. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while the Bears are ranked 130th).

Pawhuska lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Will Sweeden, who posted seven points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Darien West, who earned five points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Pawhuska smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Pawhuska's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Wyandotte, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Pawhuska nor Wyandotte have any future games scheduled.
