Basketball Game Preview: Lacassine Cardinals vs. Singer Hornets

The Lacassine Cardinals will take on the Singer Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lacassine knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Singer likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Lacassine didn't have too much trouble with LaGrange as they won 77-60. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Gators are ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Singer didn't have quite enough to beat Pickering on Tuesday and fell 51-49. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lacassine pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.5 points per game. As for Singer, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-1.
