Softball Recap: Cumberland Pirates vs. Teutopolis Wooden Shoes
Cumberland won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They lost 12-6 to the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes. Cumberland has not had much luck with Teutopolis recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Libby McGinnis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and a stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jade Carr, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
On Teutopolis' side, they let Malea Helmink and Mallory Bloemer loose on the outfield. Helmink went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and a double, while Bloemer went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and a double. Summer Wall was another key contributor, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.
