Basketball Recap: DePue Takes a Loss

DePue was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Newark Norsemen 76-33. The Little Giants were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-16.

It was another big night for Dylan Long, who went 13 for 20 en route to 29 points along with seven rebounds and six assists for Newark. The match was Long's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Payton Wills, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

DePue's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Newark, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7.

DePue has already played their next contest (against Earlville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Newark wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-52 victory against Aurora Christian on the 15th.
