Basketball Recap: Alexandria City Takes a Loss

Alexandria City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost to the Wakefield Warriors at home by a 71-53 margin. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Alexandria City still got an impressive performance from Tarik Sesay, who went 6 of 9 en route to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Octavius Miller Jr, who posted seven points and three steals.

Alexandria City's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Wakefield, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alexandria City won't have much time to rest: their next match is against West Potomac at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in West Potomac's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Wakefield, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against McLean at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McLean will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Wakefield surely won't give up without a fight.
