Soccer Game Preview: Sandy vs. North Eugene

The Sandy Pioneers will head out on the road to face off against the North Eugene Highlanders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sandy's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so North Eugene's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Sandy's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Sherwood by a score of 2-0. While Sandy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-9-2), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Eugene). Everything went their way against La Salle on Tuesday as they made off with a 6-0 win. North Eugene's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matchups.

North Eugene's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Sandy, their win bumped their record up to an identical 6-0.

Sandy might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from North Eugene when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Pioneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
