Basketball Game Preview: Akins Eagles vs. Dripping Springs Tigers

The Akins Eagles will head out to challenge the Dripping Springs Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dripping Springs took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Akins, who comes in off a win.

Akins will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Del Valle, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Akins skirted past Del Valle 63-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since January 26, 2024.

Meanwhile, Dripping Springs was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 51-46 to Westlake. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Chaparrals: they've now lost eight in a row.

Akins' victory bumped their record up to 13-17. As for Dripping Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 17-14.

Akins came up short against Dripping Springs when the teams last played back in January, falling 51-40. Can Akins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
