Football Game Preview: Pelion Panthers vs. Ninety Six Wildcats

Pelion is 0-3 against Ninety Six since September of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers will host the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Ninety Six took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Pelion, who comes in off a win.

Pelion is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Eau Claire with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 48-30. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Shamrocks: they've now won four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pelion to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jai Chuniesingh, who picked up 196 receiving yards and three TDs. Chuniesingh is crushing it when it comes to receiving yards: he's posted at least 101 every time he's taken the field this season. Another rusher making a difference was Tre Jackson, who rushed for 149 yards and three scores.

Pelion was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 267 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Pelion didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Will Green and Axel Garcia.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Ninety Six took on Crescent last Friday. The Wildcats had to suffer through a 59-21 loss at the hands of the Tigers. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Ninety Six's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Pelion, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Pelion was taken down by Ninety Six 42-8 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Panthers were down 28-8.
