Softball Recap: Nogales Comes Up Short

Nogales was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 22-3 to the Desert View Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 last Monday.

Nogales saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eliana Acevedo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Nogales' loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Desert View, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nogales will head out to face off against Walden Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Apaches' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Desert View, they are taking a road trip to take on Buena at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
