Soccer Game Preview: Vista Murrieta vs. Temecula Valley

The Vista Murrieta Broncos are taking a road trip to challenge the Temecula Valley Golden Bears at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Vista Murrieta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.

Temecula Valley will be up against a hot Vista Murrieta squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Vista Murrieta put the hurt on Chaparral with a sharp 4-0 win on Wednesday. Given the Broncos' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Pumas are ranked 924th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Vista Murrieta hit Chaparral with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from David Mejia (2), Callum Carvetta, and Mario Mejia.

Meanwhile, Temecula Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They and Murrieta Valley finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked the Golden Bears' first draw of the season.

Vista Murrieta has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those eight games. Temecula Valley's draw gives them a new season record of 7-6-1.

Vista Murrieta beat Temecula Valley by a goal in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vista Murrieta since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
