Softball Game Preview: St. Michaels Saints vs. Bohemia Manor Eagles

The St. Michaels Saints will face off against the Bohemia Manor Eagles on Monday. St. Michaels will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

St. Michaels is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 19-13 margin over Kent County.

Lola Browning was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Sofia Miller, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 21 runs the game before, Bohemia Manor was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Havre de Grace.

Lyla Wescoat (2027) put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Wescoat (2027) wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kylee Bergman (2025) Salisbury, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Bohemia Manor's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for St. Michaels, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.

St. Michaels suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Bohemia Manor in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
