Baseball Recap: South View Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

South View waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Western Harnett Eagles with a sharp 7-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past David Ramsey, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Western Harnett off the board. What's more, Ramsey gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Trey Ray was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Logan Read also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

South View's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Western Harnett, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, South View will host Douglas Byrd at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Western Harnett, they will venture away from home to take on Harnett Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
