After flying high against East Iberville last Wednesday, Ascension Catholic came back down to earth. The Ascension Catholic Bulldogs fell just short of the Lafayette Christian Academy Knights by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Ascension Catholic sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 22-25, 15-12.
Leading Lafayette Christian Academy to victory were Sydney Williams and Leilani Hudson. Williams had two aces and 16 assists, while Hudson had seven digs. Williams is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in the last nine games she's played dating back to last season.
