Volleyball Recap: Peoria Takes a Loss

Peoria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Marquette Catholic Explorers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2022.

Marquette Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Karly Davenport led the charge by getting three digs and three aces. That's the most aces Davenport has posted since back in August.

Peoria's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Marquette Catholic, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-12.

Coming up, Peoria will challenge Richwoods at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marquette Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Seymour on the 3rd.
