Baseball Recap: Lawrence Wins Going Away Against Nottingham

Lawrence barely beat Nottingham the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cardinals blew past the Northstars 13-4 on Monday. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

Teak Toto was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josh Vichroski, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lawrence kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Lawrence is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Nottingham, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lawrence will head out to square off against Robbinsville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Ravens will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. As for Nottingham, they are taking a road trip to face off against Steinert at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
