Baseball Game Preview: Hamilton Christian Warriors vs. Jennings Bulldogs

The Hamilton Christian Warriors will face off against the Jennings Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hamilton Christian has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Hamilton Christian came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Church Point, falling 11-1.

Hamilton Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Menard, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Menard is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another was Caleb Stewart, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Jennings made easy work of Lake Arthur on Friday and carried off a 12-1 win. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Hudson Dupuis made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Jennings' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 5-9 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Jennings got a big performance out of Liam Leblanc, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Leblanc has posted since back in February. Jude Monic was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Hamilton Christian's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Jennings, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
