Softball Game Preview: Bexley Lions vs. Grandview Heights Bobcats

The Bexley Lions will head out to face off against the Grandview Heights Bobcats at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Bexley has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bexley is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Worthington Christian just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors.

Elle Cochran made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Alison Lefkowitz, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Grandview Heights got the win against Whitehall-Yearling on Friday by a conclusive 12-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.

Ejheni Mdivanian was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Mdivanian was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Mdivanian wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Castle, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Callie Rutter was another, scoring three runs and stealing a base.

Bexley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Grandview Heights, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Bexley might still be hurting after the 16-3 loss they got from Grandview Heights in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
