Recap: Eldon Mustangs vs. Buffalo Bison
The Eldon Mustangs won the last time they faced the Buffalo Bison, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 72-34 blowout they got at home against Buffalo. Given Eldon's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Buffalo is ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sydney Halderman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Eldon's points. Kenzi Ward was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Eldon is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Buffalo, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Eldon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Buffalo will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Versailles at 7:30 p.m. Versailles is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
