Volleyball Game Preview: Floyd Central Highlanders vs. DeSales Colts

The Floyd Central Highlanders will square off against the DeSales Colts at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Floyd Central will be strutting in after a win while DeSales will be coming in after a loss.

Floyd Central proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Madison 3-2. The Highlanders haven't had any issues with the Cubs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Floyd Central took Madison into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-14, 27-25, 23-25, 15-9.

Meanwhile, DeSales faced St. Xavier in a battle between two of the state's top teams back in March. The Colts lost 3-0 to the Tigers. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, 25-11.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for DeSales, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Floyd Central skirted past DeSales 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Highlanders repeat their success, or do the Colts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
