Baseball Recap: Palo Alto Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Palo Alto ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Hillsdale Fighting Knights 7-6. The victory was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Coco Vonderhaar was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Palo Alto is 2-1 when Vonderhaar posts three or more hits, but 4-10 otherwise. Greg Lee also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Palo Alto's record is now 6-11. As for Hillsdale, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palo Alto will face off against Gunn at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hillsdale, they will challenge Sacred Heart Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gators' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Fighting Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
