Basketball Recap: Mission Viejo Diablos vs. Dana Hills Dolphins
The Mission Viejo Diablos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Dana Hills, falling 88-56. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mission Viejo in their matchups with the Dolphins: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Mission Viejo had strong showings from Alexander Frost, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds, and Austin Whitehead, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Damian Navarro, who scored nine points.
Collin Haugh continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Dana Hills, going 8 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 42 points and 1 assist. Haugh has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 18 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nikolis Grguric, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Mission Viejo has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season. As for Dana Hills, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-4.
