Basketball Recap: Kosciusko Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Noxubee County last Tuesday, Kosciusko came back down to earth. The Kosciusko Whippets took a 57-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Louisville Wildcats on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Whippets in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost seven in a row.

Kosciusko's loss came despite strong showings from Kaleysha Miller and Journey Harris. Miller posted 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Harris scored 14 points and five boards. Miller has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaniziya Floyd, who put up seven points.

Kosciusko's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-5. As for Louisville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Kosciusko has already played their next matchup (against Caledonia), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Louisville will be playing in front of their home fans against Leake Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Louisville is facing Leake Central at the right time seeing as Leake Central is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
