Baseball Game Preview: North Laurel Jaguars vs. Rockcastle County Rockets

The North Laurel Jaguars will square off against the Rockcastle County Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

North Laurel barely beat Leslie County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jaguars blew past the Eagles 13-6 on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Jaguars as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Cooper Parman was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Smith, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

North Laurel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Rockcastle County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Southwestern 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rockets have posted since March 28th.

Rockcastle County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Lovell, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

The victory got North Laurel back to even at 12-12. As for Rockcastle County, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.

North Laurel couldn't quite get it done against Rockcastle County in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 16-11. Can the Jaguars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
