Soccer Game Preview: Ursuline Academy vs. Delcastle Technical

The Ursuline Academy Raiders will challenge the Delcastle Technical Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

Ursuline Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Delaware's top teams: Archmere Academy, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Ursuline Academy was ranked 22nd). The Raiders lost 5-0 to the Auks on Saturday. Ursuline Academy have struggled against Archmere Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Delcastle Technical and Newark have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Cougars' defense stepped up to hand the Yellowjackets a 3-0 shutout. Delcastle Technical might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by three goals or more this season.

Ursuline Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Delcastle Technical, their win bumped their record up to 8-1-2.

Ursuline Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Delcastle Technical in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
