Softball Recap: Niles West Comes Up Short

After flying high against Regina Dominican on Friday, Niles West came back down to earth. The Wolves took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maine West Warriors on Tuesday. The Wolves have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Niles West saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sarah Park, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Niles West's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Maine West, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Niles West will challenge rival Vernon Hills at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Maine West is set to take on their familiar foe Niles North at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
