Volleyball Recap: Severance Now 9-3 over Last 12 Games

Severance hadn't done well against Stargate School recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Silver Knights walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Eagles. This was payback for the Silver Knights, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Severance had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-23.

Olek Klimik paced Severance's offense, picking up nine kills. Klimik got some help from Gabe Schneekloth and his 33 assists. Matt Zenger controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Despite the defeat, Stargate School had strong showings from Jonas Cecil, who had 11 digs, and Jackson Wood, who had ten kills, ten digs, and three aces. Wood has been hot recently, having posted three or more aces the last four times he's played.

Severance has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Stargate School, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.

Coming up, Severance will venture away from home to square off against Mountain View at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mountain Lions will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Silver Knights surely won't give up without a fight. Stargate School has already played their next matchup (against DMLK), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
