Basketball Game Preview: Cotulla Cowboys vs. Lytle Pirates

Cotulla is 1-9 against Lytle since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cotulla Cowboys will host the Lytle Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Cotulla is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 37-19 to Natalia, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, Lytle was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 31-26 to Poteet.

Cotulla will have to contain Arianna Garcia as she made an impact in Lytle's last game. She dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, Garcia is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Valentina Ayala, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Lytle dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Cotulla, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
