Basketball Recap: Southwestern Takes a Loss

After flying high against Iowa-Grant last Tuesday, Southwestern came back down to earth. The Southwestern Wildcats took a 46-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Darlington Redbirds on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while the Redbirds are ranked 171st).

Southwestern has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Darlington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwestern has already played their next match (against Fennimore), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Darlington has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against New Glarus.
