Football Recap: Ballard Takes a Loss

Ballard blew Gilbert out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Gilbert got their revenge. The Bombers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 32-29. While losing is never fun, the Bombers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Tigers are ranked 19th).

Ballard dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Gilbert, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Ballard will challenge rival Bondurant-Farrar on Friday. Meanwhile, Gilbert is set to square off against their familiar foe Des Moines North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
