Softball Recap: Momence Takes a Loss

Momence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 7-0 to the Gardner-South Wilmington Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-1 last Tuesday.

Momence saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydnee Vanswol, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Vanswol hit this season.

Momence's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Gardner-South Wilmington, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Momence will welcome Donovan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Momence Athletics are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Gardner-South Wilmington, they will venture away from home to take on Wilmington at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 14.2 runs per game this season.
