Baseball Game Preview: Treasure Coast Titans vs. John Carroll Catholic Rams

The Treasure Coast Titans are taking a road trip to take on the John Carroll Catholic Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Treasure Coast nor John Carroll Catholic posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Last Friday, Treasure Coast didn't have quite enough to beat South Fork and fell 3-2. The loss was the Titans' first of the season.

Treasure Coast saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Kummell, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Giulian Iglesias also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, John Carroll Catholic put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against Mater Academy Charter. The one-run effort marked the Rams' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

John Carroll Catholic also got a great performance from Camrin Weeks as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit over 4.1 innings pitched.

Having lost for the first time this season, Treasure Coast fell to 4-1. As for John Carroll Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Treasure Coast has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like John Carroll Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Treasure Coast was able to grind out a solid win over John Carroll Catholic when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 6-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Treasure Coast since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
