Baseball Game Preview: Jasper Wildcats vs. Evansville Memorial Tigers

For the first time this season, Jasper will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Evansville Memorial Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Jasper will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Greencastle on Saturday. The Wildcats blew past the Tiger Cubs 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won three games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Evansville Memorial put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Tecumseh a 7-0 shutout.

Evansville Memorial pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average this season. As for Jasper, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
