Volleyball Recap: Upperman Edges Past Choctawhatchee

Choctawhatchee's tournament run continued when they took on Upperman on Saturday. The Indians fell just short of the Bees by a score of 2-1. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bees 25-18 in the first set.

Choctawhatchee started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-18, 15-9.

Janiya Brown paced Choctawhatchee's offense, picking up nine kills. Brown got some help from Annabeth Bexley and her eight assists. Gabriella Blackstock controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Emery Huddleston continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Upperman, getting 23 assists, six digs, and five aces. Shayla Burchett was another key player, getting 14 digs and an assist.

Choctawhatchee's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Upperman, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.

Choctawhatchee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Tate on the 12th. As for Upperman, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against South Walton on the 12th.
