Baseball Recap: West Shamokin's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

West Shamokin dropped their record down to 9-4 on Monday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Purchase Line Red Dragons by a score of 10-9. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Dragons earlier this season, when they won 14-0.

Braden Talmadge was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gunnar Shoop, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As for Purchase Line, they pushed their record up to 4-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the match before.

On Purchase Line's side, Devlan Kordish was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Kordish has become a key player for the Red Dragons: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 1-9 otherwise. Christian Moyer was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one triple.
