Volleyball Recap: Canandaigua Academy Comes Up Short

Canandaigua Academy entered their matchup against Webster Schroeder on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Gray Wolves lost 3-0 to the Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Gray Wolves have suffered since September 15th.

Their offense was headlined by Gianna Turner and Maya Wiitanen, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Kadyn Chapman and her 11 assists. Wiitanen was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Gigi Lannotti, who had 13 assists and nine digs. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Canandaigua Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-6-2. As for Webster Schroeder, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-2-1.

Canandaigua Academy has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Batavia on the 2nd. As for Webster Schroeder, they will challenge Rush-Henrietta at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
