Basketball Recap: Robbinsville's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Monday

On Monday, the Robbinsville Black Knights didn't have too much trouble with the Summit Charter Bears as they won 55-41. Given the Black Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Bears are ranked 481st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Summit Charter saw an underclassman step up: freshman Olivia Reeves went 9 of 18 on her way to 24 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. With that strong performance, Reeves is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Victoria Clement was another key player, putting up six points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.

Robbinsville's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Summit Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Hayesville the next time they take the court. Robbinsville will host Hayesville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Summit Charter will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
