Volleyball Recap: Stewarts Creek Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Stewarts Creek had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Riverdale Warriors on Monday, falling 3-0. The Red Hawks have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Riverdale scored at least 21 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-22, 25-22.

Rayne White paced Stewarts Creek's offense, picking up four kills. White got some help from Kaitlyn Viriyapong and her six assists. Viriyapong was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Bre Putnam was the offensive standout of the contest as she had seven digs and three aces.

Looking ahead, Stewarts Creek will challenge White County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Red Hawks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Riverdale, they will take on Ezell-Harding Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
