Basketball Recap: Carter G. Woodson Comes Up Short

Carter G. Woodson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 71-67 heartbreaker at the hands of the Winston Salem Christian Silver Lions. While losing is never fun, the Eagle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 618th, while the Lions are ranked 42nd).

Carter G. Woodson's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Winston Salem Christian Silver, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.

Carter G. Woodson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Winston Salem Christian Silver, they will host Greater Vision Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Winston Salem Christian Silver knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Greater Vision Academy likes a good challenge.
