Basketball Recap: Shelton Comes Up Short

Shelton lost against WF West back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Shelton Highclimbers took a 50-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the WF West Bearcats. The Highclimbers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading WF West to victory were Grady L Westlund and Weston Potter. L Westlund dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds, while Potter posted 11 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Potter has become a key player for WF West: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three steals, but 7-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Brumfield, who scored seven points and eight boards.

Shelton's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for WF West, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Shelton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for WF West, they will take on Hockinson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hockinson has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with five straight defeats, while WF West will come in with three straight victories.
