Izard County fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Tuckerman on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-3. The Cougars' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Izard County's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-3. As for Tuckerman, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Izard County Cougars face off against Heber Springs Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Izard County is on a nine-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Heber Springs a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. As for Tuckerman, they will face off against McCrory at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
