Recap: Mayfield Wildcats vs. Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets
Mayfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell just short of the Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets by a score of 9-8.
Emily Daedelow made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and a double. Ella Garrett was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Mayfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mt. Vernon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Mayfield will be staying on the road on April 2nd to face off against Gilmour Academy at 4:15 p.m. As for Mt. Vernon, they will challenge Mosinee at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
