League recap: Carlin gets lift from Kitts' big bat

IV Northern league recap: 3/27/13

Robert Kitts was the hottest hitter in IV Northern this week, racking up a .619 average with ten RBIs. Meanwhile, Carlin put together a 4-2 week.

Wells's Jordon Martinez was the best pitcher in the league this week. He won two games and retired 11 batters.

Even after stealing 21 bases to lead the league over the past week, the Railroaders are still looking up at the Leopards, which ranks No. 1 in steals, with 54 on the year.

11 batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Robert Kitts, who hit .619 this week (13-for-21).

Martinez leads the league in both wins and strikeouts this season after another strong week, during which he recorded two wins and 11 Ks.



Mathew Cadwell was an RBI machine on Saturday, as he knocked in six runs during Carlin's 25-0 win over Coleville. He went 4-for-4 and scored three runs.

The Railroaders' Jake Burris-blane struck out eight the Wolves hitters en route to a 25-0 victory on March 23. Over three innings of work, he gave up two hits and one run.
