Volleyball Recap: Huntington Comes Up Short

Huntington was the 3-1 winner over Winfield when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Highlanders fell just short of the Generals by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. While the Highlanders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Generals 25-20 in the first set.

Huntington started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-19, 15-6.

Huntington has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8-2 record this season. As for Winfield, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-5-2.

Coincidentally, Huntington and Winfield will both be playing Charleston Catholic the next time they take the court. The Highlanders will head out to face the Irish at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Generals will play them later in the day, at 8:30 p.m.
