Volleyball Recap: Maine South Starts Season with Victory at Home

Maine South gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Prospect Knights. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won six in a row.

While Maine South won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-23.

Maine South's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Teagan Heneghan led the charge by getting 12 assists and four digs. Heneghan has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more assists the last four times she's played.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maine South will square off against Saint Ignatius College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Prospect, they will take on Maine West at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
