Soccer Game Preview: Lejeune vs. East Carteret

Lejeune is on a six-game streak of home wins, while East Carteret is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Devilpups will host the Mariners at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Lejeune beat Jones 3-1. Given Lejeune's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 148th, while Jones are ranked 501st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Carteret). They never let Pamlico County get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

East Carteret's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Lejeune, their victory bumped their record up to 14-0-1.

Lejeune beat East Carteret 2-0 in their previous meeting on October 8th. Will the Devilpups repeat their success, or do the Mariners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
