Basketball Game Preview: South Shore Vikings vs. Terry Sanford Bulldogs

The South Shore Vikings and the Terry Sanford Bulldogs will round out the year against one another at at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

South Shore saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 44-31 victory over South Garner.

Meanwhile, Terry Sanford wrapped up 2024 with a 58-44 win over South Central. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Falcons are ranked 44th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Shore better keep an eye on Breonna Roaf. She was instrumental in Terry Sanford's win, going 6 of 14 on her way to 19 points in addition to eight assists and three steals. Roaf has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ameya Brown, who posted 13 points along with seven boards and six steals.

Terry Sanford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 41 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Terry Sanford's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for South Shore, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
