Soccer Recap: Martin Luther Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Martin Luther can now relate to. They lost 8-0 to the Catholic Memorial Crusaders on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Martin Luther can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Catholic Memorial are ranked 15th).

This is the second loss in a row for Martin Luther and nudges their season record down to 4-18. As for Catholic Memorial, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-1-2.

Martin Luther does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Catholic Memorial, they will challenge St. Thomas More on Saturday. St. Thomas More's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
