Basketball Recap: Bonham Comes Up Short

Bonham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 64-42 to the Sulphur Springs Wildcats.

Despite the loss, Bonham still got an impressive performance from Russell Welch, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Dj Stewart, who put up 11 points.

Bonham's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Sulphur Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonham will head out to square off against Paris at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sulphur Springs, they will venture away from home to take on Pleasant Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sulphur Springs knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Pleasant Grove likes a good challenge.
