Preview: Chapelgate Christian Academy Yellowjackets vs. Annapolis Area Christian Eagles

The Chapelgate Christian Academy Yellowjackets will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Annapolis Area Christian Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Chapelgate Christian Academy pushed their score all the way to 57 last Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Mary's. It was the first time this season that Chapelgate Christian Academy let down their fans at home.

Despite the defeat, Chapelgate Christian Academy had strong showings from Julian Sabbat, who scored 22 points along with two steals and two blocks, and Justin Bishop, who scored 16 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Plater, who scored four points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 85-46, which was the final score in Annapolis Area Christian's tilt against Riverdale Baptist on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Annapolis Area Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while Riverdale Baptist is ranked 21st).

Chapelgate Christian Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7. As for Annapolis Area Christian, their defeat was their 12th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-6.

Chapelgate Christian Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Annapolis Area Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 56-52 win. Does Chapelgate Christian Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Annapolis Area Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
